Stop Patient Drop-Off | Lesson 1 of 4

You don't have a new patient problem. You have a back-door problem.

In this lesson: the three places every practice loses patients, why it happens in patterns and not randomly, and the two-minute check that shows you exactly how many patients have slipped out your back door.

Here's what to watch for in this lesson.

Patients don't leave because they stopped believing in chiropractic. They leave through operational moments: the early weeks before rhythm builds, the visit where they say "I feel better," and the first missed appointment. Three leaks. All patterns. All fixable.

And most of it walks out one door nobody's watching: the back door of the practice. New patients come in the front while the patients you already have, the ones you already paid to get, quietly slip out the back.

Once you see the pattern, you can't unsee it. That's the point of this lesson.

Your two-minute check

Three numbers, straight out of your EHR.

1. Your total patient list. Every patient record with an email address on file. The email is the filter, not the calendar.

2. Your active patients. Anyone who's been on your table in the last 60 days. Don't re-pull anything. Sort the list you already exported by last visit date and split off the last 60 days.

3. Subtract. Total minus active. That's your reactivation list, name by name.

Your EHR's exact clicks are in the export guide: ChiroTouch, Jane, Genesis, ChiroFusion, ChiroSpring, ChiroHD, and the exact script to hand your EHR support team if yours isn't listed. Open the export guide.

Drop the duplicates before you count. What's left is your patient base.

When you've got your three numbers, reply to the lesson email and send them to me. Total, active, reactivation. And if you pulled the list but the sorting's fighting you, attach the export and ask. My team will help you get it sorted.
